Art in the Gallery
The "Art Girls" first met in Erika Walsh's watercolor class at Maryland Hall and have been painting, traveling, playing, eating and drinking together since 2000. They have traveled several times to Palm Springs, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York and Spain in pursuit of their artistic careers. Most often they meet in Brenda's studio where they create, discuss and plan. Several successful studio shows inspire them year after year. Each of the artists credit Erika Walsh for her inspiration, encouragement, and generosity of spirit.
Lori Dimont transitioned from oil paints to watercolors upon moving to the Annapolis area from the West Coast. She has exhibited at several area locales including The Big Bean and Image Creators in Severna Park, the North County Library and Cravings in Glen Burnie, Paul's Cafe, City Hall and Maryland Hall. Her work is also in several private collections in Los Angeles, Ft. Lauderdale, Seattle and Maryland.
Lori is currently exploring photographic imaging and enjoys both traditional print and experimenting with digital manipulation and media, including prints on canvas.
Cynthia Viener Hoff has background in oils, ceramics, sculpture, and collage before settling on watercolors as her favorite medium. She especially enjoys the spontaneity of the medium and hopes to impart a sense of joy through her paintings. Most recently she has expanded into collage work which she finds both challenging and rewarding.
Cynthia has exhibited locally and also in Virginia Beach, and Shepardstown, Martinsburg and Charles Town, West Virginia. She was included in a juried show at Maryland Hall and Annapolis City Hall for the event "Splash" 2004, 2005 and 2006. Her work is included in several private collections.
Brenda Warner Lee enjoys creating with a variety of mediums and over time has evolved to become more experimental. Traditional and abstract watercolor, greeting cards and fused glass decorative and wearable pieces are among her favorites. She has shown her work at Maryland Hall, City Hall, The A,tist's Framer in Annapolis, Image Creators in Severna Park and at other Maryland locations.
She was Artist of the Month in Taste of the Bay Magazine in April 2006. She also received a blue ribbon for her fused glass work at the Maryland State Fair, 2006. Her work is also in several private collections.
Brenda's sense of design was also greatly influenced by working with artist Peggy Jaeger.
