Calling all Woods Men!
“Be strong and courageous!” That was God’s commission given to Joshua when he became leader of the Israelites. If you are like me, we want to be strong and courageous too. We want to be strong and courageous for our families, in our work and in all our lives. We are strengthened and encouraged when we find ourselves banded with brothers.
WOODSMEN is the band of brothers at WoodsChurch. In fellowship, service, growth and recreation, we encourage one another to become the men Christ calls us to be. In 2008, we are expanding the ways we can connect with each other and become the best husbands, fathers, sons, professionals and disciples possible.
Beginning in January, we will start a new program called “Winning at Work & Home.” With other guys, we will use materials produced by Men’s Fraternity to inspire and challenge us to be great husbands, fathers and men who do good work. In the last two churches I served, men found this program to be fun, edifying and inspiring. It has been a great way to get know other guys in the church and find some good friends.
There will be two opportunities each week. On Tuesdays (beginning January 29) we will meet 6:00 – 7:30 AM before work. On Saturdays, (beginning January 26) we will meet 7:30 – 9:00 AM. The material will be the same for both days. Bagels and coffee will be provided. Cost will be $ 25 to cover materials and food. The program will conclude in mid May.
