Thinking about joining Woods?
Dear Prospective New Member and Friend of Woods!
We feel privileged and blessed that you are considering membership at Woods. We know you have given much thought to this decision – one that is very important to your faith life, as it impacts you and your family in such significant ways.
We have recently revamped our membership process hoping that the new schedule will allow you to learn and experience the many aspects of Woods Church in which you participate as a disciple of Jesus Christ. During your first year as a member at Woods, we will offer and guide you to several opportunities in which you may discern and enrich your spiritual growth.
Our next series of New Members’ Classes will begin with a Dessert Social on Monday, October 24th at 7:00 pm at the home of Rev. Nancy Lincoln Reynolds. We will then offer two one hour classes, on Sunday November 6th and 13th from 9:30-10:30 am OR one class on Tuesday, November 8th, from 7:00-9:00 pm. You may attend either the Tuesday night class or both Sunday classes. These classes will focus on becoming Disciples of Christ and discussions will focus on worship, belonging, service, spiritual growth and mission. On Wednesday, November 16th, at 6:30 pm, New Members and Elders will meet in Fellowship Hall for dinner. You will be welcomed into the fellowship of Woods on Sunday November 20th at the worship service of your choice.
It is our hope that the new member process will give you the information and inspiration you need in order to reach a commitment to discipleship with us at Woods. We want your joining Woods to be about your commitment to Christ and his ministry, and hope that this series of classes will facilitate your reaching that commitment. Please know that, until then, you are always welcome to be involved in any and all ministries at Woods.
Enclosed you will find information form(s) to fill out and return to the church office before the class begins. Please fill in the forms with as much detail as possible so that we can get to know you and make the joining process as smooth as possible. We have enclosed a return envelope for your convenience.
Again, we are pleased that you have selected Woods, and hope that it will soon become your church home and community of faith.
