The most important decision a young person can make is to commit themselves to Christ and to take up membership in Christ's Church through confirmation of the Baptismal vows made for them by their parents.  Through discussions, activities, skits, and small group interactions, our young people learn the basics of the faith and how we apply that faith to our lives.  Our Confirmation class begins in September and the class joins church on Pentecost in the Spring.  This class is open to any ninth grader.

 

Confirmation 2009 - 2010

It’s time, and I know you know it. The joy of summer slowly decaying into dread for what is to come next month. Office Depot and Staples running their incredibly annoying “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” commercials ad infinitum. Suddenly you realize summer assignments can’t be put off forever. Because your days of freedom are numbered and the countdown has begun: t-minus 18 days to Armageddon… school.

 

But hang in there. The silver lining will appear soon in your mailboxes in the form of Confirmation registration forms, which are being mailed this week. The school year is much more bearable when you get to spend your Sunday mornings chilling out over a cup of coffee, bagels, and a big, steaming plate of Jesus. So if you plan on partaking in the holy awesomeness of Confirmation, here are some dates for which attendance is mandatory:

Confirmation Orientation: Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 7:00-8:30 pm
Fall Retreat: September 25-27, 2009
Spring Retreat: May 7-9, 2010
Special Session Meeting: Wednesday, May 19, 2010
Confirmation Sunday: May 23, 2010
