ELDERLY AND DISABLED SUPPORT
WORSHIP SERVICES are led by lay members of Woods Church at local care facilities. Each month includes a service at Future Care (College Parkway) on the first Monday, Genesis Eldercare (Truckhouse Road) on the second Wednesday, and a service at Sunrise (the senior housing facility right next to WoodsChurch) on the third Wednesday. Residents gather for the brief worship service and friendly fellowship. Contact: John and Lucia Robinson.
MEALS ON WHEELS volunteers pack over 30,000 meals 
a year in the Woods kitchen and deliver them to the elderly and disabled in our area. When: Monday – Friday; Packers work 9 – 11 am, Delivery 10:45 AM - Noon. Contact: Meals on Wheels directly at 410-263-5444.
REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE assists elderly or disabled members of the community, without family, with the management of their personal finances and bills. The volunteer uses the client’s funds to pay bills, make purchases, and monitors the client’s other needs. Training is provided. When: Schedule is flexible. Contact: John Knode.
WOODSWISE provides financial assistance to qualified residents of Sunrise of Severna Park to remain in their home despite financial difficulties. Specific guidelines relating to income, assets, and the resident’s Sunrise expenses determine whether the applicant is qualified to receive this confidential assistance, the amount of which varies according to need and available resources. Ground rent payments from Sunrise Senior Living are used to fund this effort, which is administered by Woodswise, a non profit corporation affiliated with Woods.
