ELDERLY AND DISABLED SUPPORT
WORSHIP SERVICES are led by lay members or "disciples" of Woods Church at local care facilities. Each month includes a service at Future Care (College Parkway) on the first Monday, Genesis Eldercare (Truckhouse Road) on the second Wednesday, and a service at Sunrise (the senior housing facility right next to WoodsChurch) on the third Wednesday. In addition, Easter Sunday and regular communion services are provided at Sunrise to coinside with those held at Woods. Residents gather for the brief worship service and friendly fellowship. MEALS ON WHEELS volunteers pack over 30,000 meals 
a year in the Woods kitchen and deliver them to the elderly and disabled in our area. When: Monday – Friday; Packers work 9:00 – 11:00 am, Delivery 10:45 AM - Noon. Contact: Meals on Wheels directly at 410-431-5257.
REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE assists elderly or disabled members of the community, without capable family member, with the management of their personal finances and bills. Clients are referred to us by the appropriate county social services department. The volunteer uses the client’s funds to pay bills, make purchases, and coordinates the client's financial needs with the client's county case manager. Training is provided. When: Schedule is flexible. At least one monthly contact with the client is expected. Contact: Ashton Poole.
WOODSWISE subsidizes the rent of eligible residents of Sunrise of Severna Park in order to allow them to remain at Sunrise once they are less financially able to do so. The funds come from ground rent paid by Sunrise for the use of the land on which the facility is built. This program is confidential and no one at Woods other than the Treasurer of Woodswise knows who the subsidy recipients are.
