The Local and World Missions Ministry is committed to engaging and equipping others to become actively involved in mission and service in the local and world community.  Woods’ deep commitment to mission outreach is demonstrated through the more than 40 partnerships and programs which serve our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, the United States and the world.

As you review these descriptions in our Local and World Missions Booklet,(above) it is our prayer that you will see God's presence in these opportunities and that you begin to understand where it is that He is calling you to serve.  Please contact a member of the Local and World Missions Ministry or Kris McNally, Director of Local and World Missions, 410-647-2550 if you need more information.

Rebuild Saturday

May 11, 2013

Looking for a way to do a hands-on project on a Saturday?   Woods will serve as the hand and feet of Christ in Severna Park and Baltimore.  You can choose to work at either of the following sites.

Rebuilding Homes:

Reach out and share the love of Christ with our neighbor and friend of Woods, Vivian.  Sign up today to help with items in need of repair to her house on Saturday, May 11. The two main areas of concentration will be repair of a termite damaged wall between the kitchen and porch and repair of the water damaged main entrance threshold flooring. In addition, we will be helping her with yard work, which she is physically unable to do. Both skilled and unskilled workers are needed.

Sign up online here:  Rebuilding Homes , or sign up in Fellowship Hall on Sundays in between services.

If you have questions, contact Scott Wiley (410) 353-1491 or Kris McNally (410) 647-2550.

Rebuilding The Center

Join the team of volunteers working to transform The Center into a facility which will host congregations and groups from Baltimore and around the country. The Center’s mission is to equip these groups to get involved in their communities and transform neighborhoods as disciples of Christ.  Both skilled and unskilled workers are needed for the rebuild and folks from all churches in the Baltimore Presbytery are being recruited. Woods will be sending a team on Saturday, May 11, but volunteers are needed on other weekends as well.  We will meet in the church parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and return by 4:00 p.m.

Sign up online here:  The Center Rebuild Project.  The Center is located on the property of First and Franklin Presbyterian.

The following is the scope of work we may be doing: finishing rough-in, hanging sheetrock, spackling; working on bathrooms and kitchens to set shower pans, tile, cabinets, and counters.  In addition they will need volunteers to finish door trims, sand, prime and paint.

If you have further questions about organizing individuals or groups to assist with this process, please contact Bill Habicht (410) 991-2458 or Kris McNally (410) 647-2550.
