Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Woods Prayer Shawl Ministry knits prayer shawls and baptismal shawls. Each shawl is knitted in groups of three – to represent the Trinity. The shawl has been blessed by the hands and intentions of the knitter and holds many prayers and good wishes. Prayer shawls are taken to those who are recovering from surgeries, those who suffer from serious and chronic illnesses, or those for whom the warmth of a loving congregation will help them through hard times. Baptismal shawls are given as infants are baptized with the assurance of being cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace and wrapped with love.

“May the Lord bless and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
